- Das paradiesische Leben des charmanten Piraten Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) erhält einen jähen Dämpfer, als der finstere Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) sein stolzes Schiff, die "Black Pearl", in seine Gewalt bringt und in der Hafenstadt Port Royal die bildhübsche Gouverneurstochter Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) entführt. Das kann der abenteuerlustige Waffenschmied Will Turner (Orlando Bloom), Elizabeth' Vertrauter seit Kindertagen, nicht auf sich beruhen lassen. Gemeinsam mit Sparrow macht er sich auf die Jagd nach der Piratenbande um Barbossa. Noch ahnen die beiden nichts von dem mysteriösen Fluch, der auf Barbossa und seiner blutrünstigen Mannschaft lastet ...

Ganz alleine taucht Captain Jack Sparrow,in der Hafenstadt Port Royal auf. Hier will er eigentlich ein Schiff kapern, und damit seine "Black Pearl", die sein erster Maat Barbossa ihm damals bei einer Meuterei abgeluchst hat zurückerobern.
So fängt eine spannende und zugleich abenteuerliche Reise über Piraten,Soldaten,
Untote und natürlich auch über einen verfluchten Goldschatz an!Alles was man braucht zu einem schönen und witzigem Film,der zugleich schöne Aufnahmen und Schiffe der damaligen Zeit richtig in Szene setzt!
